Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
Reading order. These Terms cover general use of the musicidol.ai website. The competition itself (eligibility, submissions, voting, judging, prizes, the music license you grant by submitting, dispute resolution) is governed by the Official Rules. Where these Terms and the Rules conflict on a competition matter, the Rules control.
1. The operator
Music Idol AI is operated by Piña Tropical LLC ("Piña Tropical," "we," "us"), a New Mexico limited liability company with a registered mailing address of 320 Gold Ave. SW, Ste. 620 PMB 1130, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Contact: rules@musicidol.ai.
2. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using musicidol.ai, you agree to be bound by these Terms and, to the extent you participate in the competition, by the Official Rules. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account, submit a track, or vote in rounds that require authentication. Some jurisdictions are excluded from prize eligibility for legal reasons (sanctions, skill-contest restrictions). The full list lives in /rules §3.3.
4. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account secure, for all activity under your account, and for the accuracy of any information you provide. We use Better Auth for authentication and never store your raw passwords. You may delete your account at any time by writing to the contact above.
5. Music submissions
When you submit a track, you grant Piña Tropical LLC a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license that lets us host and stream your track on the platform; use it in full or in part in marketing and promotional materials related to the competition; create derivative content (videos, recaps, podium reveals, anthologies) related to or derived from the season and any entry track; and use the audio, cover art, and metadata to train and evaluate AI music models. You retain all underlying ownership in your music. The full license language, including duration and post-season terms, is in /rules §6 and controls over any summary on this page.
You represent that you own or have all necessary rights to the content you submit, including any AI-generated material, samples, lyrics, and cover art, and that submission does not violate the terms of any AI tool you used to produce the work (see /rules §5).
6. Prohibited conduct
You may not: submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that violates the originality and rights requirements in /rules §5; manipulate votes through botnets, fake accounts, paid voting services, or any other coordinated fraud; create multiple accounts to circumvent the one-entry-per-artist rule; scrape, reverse-engineer, or otherwise interfere with the service; or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account or system. Disqualification grounds are documented in detail in /rules §11.
7. Prizes and competition mechanics
Prizes are awarded under the Official Rules. Eligibility for prizes, payment method, tax handling, and any prize-modification mechanics (including upward-only modification during an active season) are governed by /rules §8 and §9. Disqualified entries forfeit any otherwise-applicable prize.
8. Service availability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability and may suspend or modify any feature at any time. Force majeure conditions affecting an active season are addressed in /rules §15.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Piña Tropical LLC and its affiliates disclaim all warranties and shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our aggregate liability arising from any participant's engagement with the competition is capped at the value of the relevant season's grand prize. The competition-specific liability framework, including carve-outs that cannot be excluded under applicable law, is in /rules §13.
10. Disputes and arbitration
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Official Rules, the competition, or the platform is governed by the law of the State of Texas, U.S.A., and is subject to binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial (or, where applicable, Consumer) Arbitration Rules. The full clause, including the carve-outs for IP / equitable relief and small-claims actions, the costs allocation, and the 30-day opt-out window for first-time entrants, is in /rules §14, which controls.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes affecting an active season are governed by the retroactive-change protections in /rules §16.1.
